I’m back in Europe and I am loving being back overseas. I really enjoy this tour and I am hoping to do well these next five events. Last week in Austria, was a great week overall. I was disappointed in how I played on the weekend because my ball striking was so well. The course was in perfect shape and the greens were rolling quick. The course reminded me of the one in Turkey, it was a little tight and fast.
I stayed with a friend of mine from Paris who is also a rookie on the tour. We had a great time rooming together. We stayed in one of the host hotels which was about five minutes from the course and about fifteen minutes from downtown Weiner Neudstadt, which is about thirty minutes from Vienna. I think she ate weiner schnitzel every day! The weather was perfect, probably around 80-85 degrees. It was definitely a nice change from the hot Georgia weather I have had lately!
One afternoon we met some other girls at their hotel and walked around the square downtown. There was an outside market set up by the locals where they had everything from handmade clothes and jewelry to flowers. I think it is really cool how most of the European cities I have been to have a main square and then lots of streets coming from that square. It is like that here in Prague this week as well. Which has been so cool to see. I am hoping tomorrow to have more of a change to be a real tourist and tour the city more in depth, there is a pro-am tomorrow at the course and I will not be able to play the course, only practice.
The Ladies European Tour set up a shuttle bus to Prague on Sunday after the tournament was over, so I arrived in Prague late Sunday night. We are staying about twenty minutes from downtown on a tram and we are just a five minute walk from the host hotel where we catch the bus everyday. I love how organized this tour is! The course is a 30 minute bus ride into the country. The course seems to be fairly new and in perfect shape. It reminds me of a Tom Fazio course because the greens are big and have quite a few slopes to them.
Today I played my practice round and it was off and on raining and the wind was blowing around 20-30mph! It was tough to pull the trolley in the wind the whole time. I finished after 16 holes because it started raining sideways! Looking forward to some downtime this afternoon and maybe finding a place to get a massage.. wish me luck!
